Why we're consulting
Over a number of years, we've been on a journey to activate the Wodonga Creek precinct. With previous consultations helping inform the progress to date, we are now at the point where we have detailed designs available for the community to view and provide feedback on.
The detailed design provides a consolidated and accessible precinct that includes:
- a new nature-themed playground with multi-age play equipment;
- a water-play area with pumps, dams and interactive features;
- improved creek-bank access with stabilisation works and safe-entry points;
- an upgraded shared path network connecting to key local and regional routes;
- native landscaping and ecological enhancements to the riparian corridor;
- new seating, shade, amenities and wayfinding.
There are four sub-projects which form this project. Detailed designs are available for each sub-project by using the interactive map or clicking on the page for each sub-project below.
Please review the detailed designs for the Wodonga Creek Activation Project and provide your feedback.

Background
This project kicked off when the Albury Wodonga Regional Deal was announced by the Australian Government in March 2019, bringing together all levels of government across the border to deliver priority regional projects.
Wodonga Creek was identified as one of these projects and as a key priority for Wodonga Council, reflecting community feedback over several years. The Wodonga Creek Waterway Activation Project is jointly funded by the Federal Government and Council through the Albury Wodonga Regional Partnership Projects fund.
The project aims to complete development along the creek corridor and strengthen links between the Wodonga CBD, Belvoir Park, Gateway Island and through to Albury. By expanding and connecting the Wodonga pathways network, the project will improve access to the river, support active transport and grow the local tourism market.
