Why we're consulting
Wodonga Council is seeking feedback on a proposal to establish a special charge scheme to help fund a new reticulated sewer system for properties in the Mitchell Street precinct at Ebden. The proposal follows detailed design work for a low-pressure sewer system, which has been approved by North East Water.
The proposed scheme would apply to 14 benefiting properties, with construction costs apportioned across those properties.
Council wants affected property owners and eligible occupiers to have the opportunity to make a submission or objection before Council decides whether to declare the special charge.
Your feedback will be considered as part of Council’s decision on whether to proceed with the proposed special charge scheme.

Background
Council has completed the detailed design of a low-pressure reticulated sewer system for the Mitchell Street precinct at Ebden. The design has received approval from North East Water and an estimate of construction costs has been prepared.
The proposed system would require each owner to install and maintain a small sewer pumping station within their property.
The proposed special charge would contribute towards the costs associated with delivering the new sewer infrastructure.
