Why we're consulting
Wodonga Council is seeking community feedback on its proposed Councillor Interaction with Developers, Lobbyists and Submitters Policy, tabled at the Council Meeting on March 24, 2025.
This new policy aims to strengthen transparency, accountability and integrity in councillor decision-making by clearly outlining expectations around interactions with developers, lobbyists and submitters.
The development of this policy has been informed by recent findings from the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC) enquiry into Casey Council, which highlighted the risks of inappropriate influence and a lack of oversight in councillor interactions.
Wodonga Council is committed to upholding public trust and ensuring that all engagement with stakeholders is conducted in a fair, ethical and transparent manner. Community input is vital in shaping this policy to reflect local values and expectations.
