Why we're consulting

The council recognises the critical role of Economic Development in fostering community growth and prosperity.

In August 2023, the council heard from community stakeholder groups, businesses and the wider community and this feedback informed the draft strategy.

The Draft Economic Development Strategy proposes a revised approach to enhance the council's economic development initiatives.

At its February meeting, the council endorsed the draft strategy to go on public exhibition for community members to have their say and we are now seeking feedback on this document.
