Why we're consulting

The use of closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems aims to enhance actual and perceived levels of public safety, protect council's assets and deter instances of crime and anti-social behaviour within council facilities and some public spaces.

The Draft CCTV Policy sets out the principles for the installation, use of and access to these CCTV systems and associated data, in Wodonga Council owned facilities or on land that is owned or managed by council.

The policy has been updated from the previously policy which was updated in 2021. Changes have been made based on legislative guidance and community expectations regarding privacy and the use of surveillance technologies.

Please take a moment to read the Draft CCTV Policy and share your feedback so we can keep building a safer and welcoming Wodonga for all.
