Why we're consulting

Wodonga Council is inviting community feedback on the Draft Budget 2025–26, Draft Financial Plan 2025–2035 and Draft Revenue and Rating Plan 2025–2029.

The Draft Budget outlines how the council plans to deliver on community priorities, maintain essential infrastructure and support local economic growth over the coming year.

The Draft Financial Plan sets out the council’s financial outlook for the next ten years, guiding strategic decision-making and ensuring financial sustainability.

The Draft Revenue and Rating Plan establishes the framework for how Wodonga Council determines rates, charges, user fees and other income sources over the next four years to fund infrastructure priorities and service delivery.

Together, these plans offer a sustainable, transparent and coordinated approach to short, medium and long term financial planning.

Budget Highlights

The Draft Budget 2025 - 2026, Draft Financial Plan 2025 - 2035 and Draft Revenue and Rating Plan 2025 - 2029 focus on delivering quality services, investing in vital infrastructure and managing finances responsibly to meet community needs.

Key highlights from the 2025 - 2026 Budget:

Rates and financial management

A three per cent increase is proposed, consistent with the Victorian Government's rate cap, to support responsible financial planning.

Investment in services

We will continue to plan, deliver and improve high quality, cost effective, accessible and responsive services. A total of $63.20 million will be invested in services including maternal and child health, environmental health and emergency management.

Capital works

A $26.31 million capital works program, which will include playground and road renewals, the completion of the Brockley Street bridge and allow for the upgrade of open spaces across the city.

Community events

Following a hugely successful North East Food and Wine Festival in 2024, the council will once again deliver the event in 2025. Wodonga Seniors Celebrations will also be held again, coinciding with the Victorian Seniors Festival.
