Wodonga Council is committed to the provision of high-quality play environments across the municipality. These should be equitable and diverse; accessible, inclusive, stimulating and challenging for a variety of age ranges. Play spaces should account for children’s physical, social, cognitive, emotional and creative skills offering variety.
The Wodonga Playspace Strategy guides the development of our play space network, site assessments and independent and safety audits determine renewal recommendations and prioritisation.
Wodonga Council will be installing play equipment in the reserve at Lukin Lane in 2025/26. The reserve is connected to the estates broader open space network and has been identified for embellishment.
The site is approximately 700m2 in Precinct BK2, the nearest playgrounds are Henrika Kuljurgies and Cuthbert St.
Precinct assessment and feedback from residents have identified the need for a play space catering to younger children.
This development will include:
- Play equipment for children aged 2-8 years;
- Earthworks;
- Fencing around the perimeter;
- Seating; and,
- Internal path connection.
