Notice of road discontinuance and intention to sell land
A. Notice of intention to discontinue road
Wodonga City Council (Council) acting under clause 3 of schedule 10 to the Local Government Act 1989 (LGA 1989) gives notice under section 223 of the LGA 1989 that it intends to discontinue the road shown hatched on the plan below, being part of the land in certificate of title volume 11607 folio 549 (Road) and sell the land.

B. Notice of intention to sell land
Council gives notice under section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020 that it intends to sell the land described below (Land).
The Land which is the subject of the sale proposal is the land in certificate of title volume 12628 folio 771 (lot 2 on PS922847W) known as 109 Roche Drive, Barnawartha North and the Road described in paragraph A of this notice.
The sale proposal is that the Land be sold by private treaty to Casey Taylor Property Developments Pty Ltd and or nominee on the following key terms:
- a purchase price of $7,474,000 plus GST;
- payment of a deposit equal to 3.5% of the price; and
- settlement will be due 30 days after the later of:
- the date of the purchaser’s planning permit;
- the date of registration of a title to the Road in the name of Council;
- the date of registration of a plan of consolidation for the Land;
- the sale will be conditional upon the purchaser procuring a planning permit for use and development of the Land as a furniture and warehousing distribution facility;
- as a condition of the sale, the purchaser must enter into a section 173 agreement with Council pursuant to section 173 of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 on terms as required by Council; and
- as a condition of the sale and subject to entering into a rate concession deed on terms as required by Council, Council agrees to provide a rate concession for the Land.
Making a submission - A. Intention to discontinue road
In accordance with section 223 of the LGA 1989, any person wishing to make a submission on the road discontinuance proposal must do so in writing within 28 days of the date of publication of this notice, being by 5.00pm on June 27, 2026. Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, and can be completed using the online form below, hand delivered to Council’s office at 104 Hovell Street, Wodonga or posted to the following address:

Any person making a submission may request to be heard in support of their submission. Any person requesting to be heard is entitled to appear in person or by a person acting on their behalf before a meeting of Council or its committee on a date to be determined by the Chief Executive Officer.
All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the LGA 1989.
