Why we're consulting

Wodonga City Council gives notice under section 115 of the Local Government Act 2020 and Council’s Community Engagement Policy of its intention to grant a lease to Henry Wayenberg and Judith May Wayenberg of that part of the land in Crown Allotment 2037 Township of Wodonga Parish of Wodonga and known as Lincoln Causeway, Wodonga 3690 shown hatched on the plan below.

The principal terms of the Lease will be as follows.

1. A term of 21 years commencing on the date on which the Lease is approved by the Minister for Environment.

2. A nominal rent of $1 for the whole of the term.

3. The Tenants will use the Premises for gardens and recreation.

4. The Tenants are liable for payment of statutory outgoings (unless exempt) and are responsible for utilities and other operating costs.

5. In consideration of the grant of the Lease to the Tenants, the Tenants will grant to Council a lease of that part of the land in certificate of title volume 9374 folio 979 and known as 9 Wright Road, Gateway Island 3691 shown cross hatched on the plan attached to this Lease below for the purpose of a shared path.

A person may make a submission on the Proposal. Any person proposing to make a submission under Section 115 of the Act must do so by 5pm on Tuesday, August 19 2025

All submissions will be considered in accordance with Section 115 of the Act.

In line with our Community Engagement Policy, any person may make a formal or informal submission on this matter.

Formal submissions are published in full in the council report, excluding personal details.

Written submissions must be clearly marked as "Proposed Lease – Lincoln Causeway (Black Duck Cafe)"
