Notice of Intention to Sell Land

Wodonga City Council (Council) gives notice under Section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020 (Act) that it intends to sell the land described below (Proposal).

The land which is the subject of the Proposal is lot 1 on the proposed plan below being part of the land contained in certificate of title volume 12394 folio 352, and known as part 26 Stanley Street, Wodonga, Victoria 3690 (Land).

The Proposal is that the Land be sold by private treaty on the following key terms:
  • a purchase price of $2,200,000 plus GST;
  • payment of a deposit equal to 10% of the price;
  • settlement will be due 30 days after the later of:
    • the day of sale;
    • the date of the purchaser’s planning permit;
    • the date of registration of a plan of subdivision to create the parcel for the Land;
  • the sale will be conditional on the purchaser procuring a planning permit to develop the Land as an office building and associated car parking (Permit), within 12 months after the day of sale; and
  • as a condition of sale, the purchaser must enter into an agreement with Council pursuant to section 173 of the Planning and Environment Act 1987, which requires the purchaser to:
    • develop the Land in accordance with the Permit;
    • substantially commence the development within 2 years after the date of settlement of the contract; and
    • practically complete the development within 4 years after the date of settlement of the contract.
A person may make a written submission on the Proposal. Any person proposing to make a submission must do so by August 16, 2025.
