Why we're consulting

The previous masterplan of the Martin Park Precinct was developed in 2015. Many action items for improvement have been executed in line with this plan.

Since the Martin Park Master Plan 2015, Wodonga has seen significant population growth and directional changes at the precinct.

To ensure the continued development and suitability for the needs of the community the master plan is due for renewal.

Background information

Martin Park has an existing masterplan, developed in 2015, action items from this plan have been largely completed. Martin Park is a sporting precinct supporting Australian Rules football, disability groups, netball and cricket. The facility is well-known throughout the area for the grandstand providing views across the main oval. The second oval is also recognised as one of the premier cricket fields in the region and is regularly chosen as the venue for finals matches. The facilities currently cater for Wodonga Bulldogs Football and Sports Club, Wodonga Junior Football Club, Wodonga Saints Football Netball Club, Wodonga Cricket Club.

It is a key site for connectivity from a north-south and east-west perspective. The site has access points and connections via road and path networks including multiple access points and direct connection with Willow Park. Its proximity to Willow Park and the Wodonga Base hospital require consideration in the planning of infrastructure development; the recently completed Willow Park Master Plan includes the proposed extension of the Martin Park car park to increase availability of spaces for the site for large events.
