Under item 22 in the current Local Law, there are a number of activities that are prohibited in municipal places without a permit.

These activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Events including a circus, carnival or fair; and,
  • Use of a powered model aeroplane, powered water craft, powered car or similar thing.

In regards to activities in public places, the standards and guidelines have no effect where the Wodonga Council Planning Scheme has applicable provisions

Consider including drones in this category.

Does council need to restrict the use of drones in certain areas such as in the vicinity of playgrounds and sporting fields, particularly during sporting matches?

Drones are currently managed under the Civil Aviation Authority rules and guidelines.

  1. Implement rules around the use of drones in specific municipal places
  2. Include other powered toys and equipment
