Notice of Intention to Lease Land

Wodonga City Council, under Section 115 of the Local Government Act 2020 intends to enter into a lease with W & M Saliba Pty Ltd, the current lessee and operator of the La Maison Cafe on the site at 40-42 Lincoln Causeway (Shop 1 and 2) for the purpose of continuing the existing food and beverage business.

Subject to negotiation, the general terms of the proposed lease are:

  • Rent: $55,000.00 plus GST per annum
  • Escalator: CPI
  • Term and option/s: Initial term of seven years and two further options of seven years
  • Leased Area: Main building, Bluestone cottage, Colourbond build, Storage shed
  • Commencement Date: Upon finalising negotiations.
  • Document: Maddocks to prepare lease
  • Outgoings: Lessee to pay 100% of outgoings that benefit the premises
  • Legal Fees: Tenant to reimburse legal fees associated with the preparation and negotiation of lease

The council will review the feedback from the community to guide decision-making as we review the proposed lease.

A person may make a written submission on the Proposal. Any person proposing to make a submission must do so by June 16, 2026.
