Why we're consulting
With more than 9,000 young people living in Wodonga, we recognise the importance of supporting, developing and preparing this next generation to achieve optimal wellbeing, now and into the future.
Our existing Youth Strategy is out of date, and with the recently adopted Council Plan and Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan reaffirming the importance of young people - it is time to update the strategy.
The intention of the new strategy is to provide a clear strategic direction to inform the work of council, stakeholders and community and support the development of young people who live, learn, work or visit Wodonga.
In late 2025, Wodonga Council commenced a period of consultation to collect input from young people and anybody with an interest in our next generation to inform the new strategy. A summary of this engagement is included in the Document Library.
The Draft Youth Strategy creates a consistent framework for decision-making, partnerships and advocacy, ensuring the needs of young people are intentionally considered across the organisation and community.
We invite you to review the Draft Youth Strategy and complete the survey to let us know if you think the draft hits the mark.
