Council adopts Budget 2023-2024

The Budget 2023-2024 was adopted at the council meeting on Monday, June 26.

Following the exhibition of the draft budget a report on the community feedback was presented to council (Item 7.3). Councillors voted to carry the motion below for changes to the draft budget.

  1. The draft 2023-2024 Budget be adjusted to decrease the Racecourse Grandstand works to be carried forward from the 2022-2023 year by $532,000 and decrease the capital works expenditure by $750,000 in the 2024-2025 financial year, and 2.
  2. The draft 2023-2024 Budget be adjusted to increase the capital works expenditure for the Wodonga Tennis Centre tree removal project by $450,000, being an additional $100,000 in the 2023-2024 financial year and $350,000 in the 2024-2025 financial year; and 3.
  3. No other adjustments be made to the draft budget as a result of the public consultation process..

Item 7.4 was for the adoption of the 2023-2024 Budget and declaration of rates and charges which included a 2 per cent rate rise.
