Why we're consulting
Wodonga Council proposes to upgrade the playground at Castle Heights, off Beechworth Road, Wodonga.
The existing features within the reserve are a basketball ring, springers, slide and swings. These were installed in the mid-1990’s and are due to be replaced as part of council’s Playground Strategy 2016- 2020.
Under our Playground Strategy, the park is categorised a local park.
A local play space serves homes generally within 10 minutes’ walk or 500m for families and its primary purpose is for play and social/family recreation. It should have seats and tables and tree shade but shelters, barbecues, toilets and parking are not required as visits are likely to be of short duration.
We are asking for community feedback to identify design elements which may meet the needs of the community or fall short of expectations.
In submitting feedback, you have the opportunity to vote for your preferred multiplay unit (which is focussed toward younger children) and your preferred central senior play area. You can also submit general feedback regarding the playground and the proposed designs.
There are two options for the multiplay unit (which is focussed toward younger children) and two options for the central senior play area.
You will find illustrations of the design options in the document library.
Council hopes to select and install a playground design that meets the needs of the community, creating a safe, fun and user friendly space for families.

Multiplay unit:
- Option 1 - Multiplay unit with slides, rope climbing wall, shop front and fireman’s pole
